The Research and Technical Assistance (RTA) project provides up-to-date documentation and analysis of the unexpected complications your development efforts face. To provide this service, the Office of Economic Adjustment has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Nathalie P. Voorhees Center, a research unit in the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The RTA project provides data and analysis to track real-time changes in the economy and housing markets. Because the needs of each base community differ, we offer a broad mix of data, analysis, mapping and consultation. Key components of the project include:

22 baseline data indicators, updated quarterly. These indicators keep you up-to-date on changes to the economy and housing market. For a list of baseline indicators, click here.

Issue guides, policy updates and other easy-to-digest guidance on how to interpret housing and economic trends. Do we have a sample of this?

On-line mapping. Beginning in Fall 2010, all of your community data will be available to use and share in an easy GIS mapping interface.

Custom data and analysis. Need resources, guidance or information on an unexpected twist to your development plans? Looking to answer a question that the baseline data and indicators do not address? We will work with you to develop the information and analysis you need.
